Ancelotti responds to Guardiola’s schedule complaints, acknowledging a ‘small advantage’ but emphasizes game outcome won’t be influenced by preparation time.
Share:In the build-up to the highly anticipated UEFA Champions League quarter-final clash between Real Madrid and Manchester City, Real Madrid’s manager, Carlo Ancelotti, responded to Pep Guardiola’s concerns over the match schedule.
Guardiola had previously aired grievances about the timing of their upcoming encounter, suggesting that the schedule could be disadvantageous for his team. Ancelotti, however, sees the situation from a different perspective.
Acknowledging a slight advantage, Ancelotti commented, “This is football, I’m happy with nine days to prepare for the City game. We have a small advantage, yes…”.
He quickly downplayed the significance of this scheduling benefit, adding, “But this won’t influence the game. We have time to prepare the game and we’ll do our best.”

Ancelotti’s response highlights a calm and strategic approach to the preparation for one of the season’s most crucial matches. Despite recognizing the extra preparation time as a ‘small advantage,’ Ancelotti remains focused on the quality of the preparation rather than the quantity of the days.
His comments reflect a broader understanding of the unpredictability of football, emphasizing that success in such a high-profile game comes down to more than just scheduling. As the football world looks on, the stage is set for a titanic battle that transcends mere logistics.
