Madrid tournament director Feliciano Lopez revealed the reason why Andy Murray refused to play in a 1/8 match against Novak Djokovic. According to Lopez, Murray had food poisoning.

“He had food poisoning. He got better this morning. But, he was still not in a condition to go out on the court yet,” the Daily Mail quoted the director as saying.

So, the third round match between Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic will not take place. The Serbian tennis player has reached the quarter-finals. In 1/4 finals, he will play against the winner of the pair Hubert Hurkacz (Poland) – Dusan Lajovic (Serbia).
