Brentford is prepared to command a substantial transfer fee if clubs like Arsenal or Liverpool express interest in Aaron Hickey.
Share:The transfer market buzzes with anticipation as Premier League giants Arsenal and Liverpool reportedly cast covetous eyes on Brentford’s promising full-back, Aaron Hickey. According to sources from Football Insider , Brentford stands firm, ready to demand a substantial fee for the Scottish international if the suitors come knocking. However, this potential transfer saga carries nuances that extend beyond monetary figures.
Aaron Hickey, often lauded for his patience in navigating his career, initially resisted the temptation of a move to English football when he burst onto the scene with Hearts. Instead, he chose a different path, heading to Italy to join Serie A side Bologna, where his talent continued to flourish.
After a productive spell in Italy, Hickey found himself on the radar of Premier League clubs seeking versatile defenders. Arsenal was frequently linked with the young Scotsman, but it was Brentford that ultimately secured his signature.
What makes Hickey a prized prospect for top clubs like Arsenal and Liverpool is his remarkable versatility. Equally comfortable on both flanks and adept with both feet, he embodies the multifaceted nature of modern footballers that top teams covet.
Arsenal, in particular, has been on the hunt for a player of Hickey’s profile. Manager Mikel Arteta envisions a player who can seamlessly cover both full-back positions, making Hickey an ideal addition to his squad.
Liverpool’s interest may stem from the recent fitness concerns surrounding star right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold. Although the England international’s return appears imminent, the Reds may deem it prudent to secure a player like Hickey who can step in on either flank when the need arises.
Brentford, known for their willingness to engage in player transfers, are open to considering offers for their talents. In the case of Hickey, they’ll undoubtedly command a significant transfer fee, aiming to capitalize on their investment in the young talent.
