As per the latest report from Fichajes, the 22-year-old Spaniard is considered a key target for Arsenal, who are eager to bolster their backline ahead of next season’s campaign. However, it remains to be seen whether the North London club can reach an agreement on a reasonable transfer fee with Barcelona, who are now open to receiving offers for the player.
Garcia has not been a regular starter for Barcelona this season and With the Catalan giants looking to raise funds by offloading fringe players, Garcia’s departure from the club could be a possibility in the near future.
A product of Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy, Garcia has already played in the Premier League with Manchester City, which should make his transition to Arsenal a smoother one. The young defender possesses the attributes required to succeed in the English top-flight, and could prove to be a shrewd acquisition for the Gunners in the long-term.
Arsenal’s defensive frailties have been well-documented this season, and the addition of a quality centre-back like Garcia could potentially solve their issues at the back. With William Saliba out injured, the Gunners have been short on options in the heart of defence, highlighting the need for reinforcements in that area.
