Reports suggest Arsenal is interested in acquiring Borussia Dortmund’s attacker, Donyell Malen.
Share:According to sources at Fichajes, the Gunners are contemplating a potential move for the 24-year-old forward once the current season concludes.
Malen has demonstrated his prowess with five goals and two assists across various competitions this season, making him an enticing prospect for Arsenal. The North London club, grappling with squad depth issues, could greatly benefit from Malen’s addition, allowing for necessary rotation of key players like Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka.
What makes Malen particularly appealing to Mikel Arteta is his versatility, as the Dutchman is adept at playing in any position across the front three. This adaptability positions him as a valuable squad player for the Arsenal manager.
The allure of showcasing his skills in the highly competitive Premier League adds another layer of attraction for Malen. If Arsenal proceeds with a formal offer, it is likely to be a tempting proposition for the 24-year-old attacker.
However, the success of this potential transfer hinges on negotiations between Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund. Malen’s existing contract with the German club extends until the summer of 2026, and Dortmund may demand a substantial transfer fee for his services.
Despite the potential hurdles, Dortmund would have ample time to secure a replacement for Malen during the summer transfer window. A lucrative offer from Arsenal could potentially pave the way for a successful deal.
Having already proven himself in German football, Malen is undoubtedly eyeing the Premier League as the next frontier in his development. For the talented Dutch international, the prospect of making a move to Arsenal and testing his skills in the English top flight might be an opportunity too compelling to resist.
