Arsenal Presents Enhanced Contract Proposition to Manchester City Sensation

In a thrilling transfer saga, it has come to light that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and the illustrious Barcelona have locked horns in a bid to secure the services of Manchester City’s midfield maestro, Ilkay Gundogan. As the German international’s contract with the Sky Blues approaches its expiration date, reports have emerged suggesting that both clubs have made significant overtures to land the talented playmaker.

Sport  has shed light on Arsenal’s aggressive pursuit of Gundogan, revealing that the North London club has tabled an enticing financial offer to entice the midfield dynamo. The reported proposal surpasses Gundogan’s current £165,000 per week salary at Manchester City, underlining Arsenal’s determination to bolster their midfield ranks with the experienced campaigner.

Not to be outdone, reigning Premier League champions Manchester City remain keen on retaining the services of the 32-year-old midfielder, as they aim to further fortify their formidable squad for the upcoming season. The allure of continuing to ply his trade at the Etihad Stadium and competing for top honors under Pep Guardiola’s guidance may prove to be a persuasive factor for Gundogan.

However, according to Sport’s report, the pendulum appears to be swinging in Barcelona’s favor. The Catalan giants, buoyed by their recent appointment of former midfield maestro Xavi as head coach, have reportedly offered Gundogan a lucrative three-year contract to don the famous Blaugrana colors. It seems that Xavi’s powers of persuasion, coupled with the lure of joining a club steeped in rich history and tradition, have swayed the German midfielder towards a potential move to Camp Nou.

Ikay Gundogan helped Manchester City to a 7th FA Cup win as they defeated their City rivals by 2 goals to 1, with the German international registering both goals.
