Arsenal might witness the return of a familiar face this winter, as a surprising move could bring star midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga back to the Emirates Stadium.
Share:The Gunners, navigating Financial Fair Play restrictions after an active summer transfer window, are actively exploring options to bolster their defensive lineup, particularly in the center-back or defensive midfield positions.
Sources suggest that Albert Sambi Lokonga, currently on loan at Luton Town, may be on the verge of returning to London Colney. The Belgian midfielder has reportedly faced challenges securing sufficient game time with Luton Town, leading to considerations of terminating his loan spell.
According to TEAMtalk, Luton Town manager Rob Edwards is weighing the decision to recall Lokonga, potentially creating space for another loanee in his squad. This move could be driven by the increased involvement of Premier League youngster Issa Kabore, who has seen more action since his arrival from Manchester City.
While the likelihood of this recall remains uncertain, it presents an intriguing opportunity for Lokonga to reignite his career. The former Anderlecht player primarily operated as a No.6 during his time at Arsenal, providing an alternative to Thomas Partey. However, with current midfield options including Declan Rice and Jorginho, the decision for Lokonga’s return could hinge on various factors.
