Share:In a potential transfer development, Aston Villa is reportedly considering a move for Kieran Tierney at the conclusion of the current season. The Scottish defender, presently on loan at Real Sociedad, has piqued the interest of former Arsenal manager Unai Emery, who coached Tierney during his tenure at the North London club.
According to sources at Football Transfers , discussions around Tierney’s future have gained traction as his loan spell with Real Sociedad is set to conclude in the summer. Despite the temporary move, Arsenal’s current manager, Mikel Arteta, is believed to be steadfast in his vision for Tierney to play a pivotal role in the team’s future at the Emirates.
Tierney’s stint with Real Sociedad has seen interruptions due to a substantial injury, sidelining the left-back for several months. Recently making a comeback to the squad, Tierney has reignited interest from other clubs, with Aston Villa emerging as a prominent contender.
Unai Emery, who played a pivotal role in Tierney’s transfer from Celtic to Arsenal, is reportedly eager to bring the Scottish defender to Aston Villa. The managerial connection between Emery and Tierney during their time at Arsenal adds a compelling dimension to the potential move.
Aston Villa, having actively pursued left-back options during the summer transfer window, is looking to strengthen its squad in that position. The Midlands club, under Emery’s management, is keen on securing Tierney’s services, aiming to bolster their defensive lineup.
