A potential summer transfer move could see Aston Villa making a significant bid to acquire Kieran Tierney from Arsenal.
Share:Aston Villa is reportedly preparing a substantial offer to secure the services of Kieran Tierney from Arsenal during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Renowned football publication Goal has highlighted the potential departure of the Scottish left-back from the Emirates Stadium at the conclusion of this season.
Tierney, who has fallen out of favor in the Gunners’ starting XI following the arrival of Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City, now finds himself contemplating a potential move within the highly competitive Premier League. Newcastle United has also been linked with an interest in the talented defender, intensifying the battle for his signature.
The allure of a move to Villa Park for Tierney is undeniably strong. Notably, his previous association with Arsenal’s former manager Unai Emery during their time together at the North London club adds an intriguing dimension to this potential transfer. Emery held Tierney in high regard, valuing his contributions to the team greatly during their shared tenure.
However, it is worth noting that a switch to St James’ Park may equally entice Tierney, especially considering Newcastle’s increasingly promising chances of securing a coveted Champions League berth for the upcoming season. In contrast, Aston Villa’s aspirations for European football seem to be gradually fading as they struggle to remain in contention.
