Barcelona is said to be determined to secure Joao Cancelo’s permanent signing from Manchester City next year.
Share:Barcelona is reportedly unswervingly committed to securing the services of Joao Cancelo on a permanent basis from Manchester City in the upcoming year. The Spanish champions successfully secured the Portuguese full-back on a loan deal from City, triumphing over competition from Bayern Munich. Under the tutelage of Xavi, Cancelo has rapidly evolved into a pivotal player for Barcelona.
According to sources at Football Espana, Barcelona is actively formulating a proposal to present to Manchester City, who is purportedly seeking an approximate sum of £44 million for the transfer of Cancelo. The proposed agreement entails an initial upfront payment of £22 million, with the remaining balance structured over a three-year period.
A recent report by Diario Sports suggests that Barcelona is contemplating another loan arrangement for Joao Cancelo in the upcoming season. However, Manchester City is said to be open to such an agreement only if it incorporates an obligatory purchase clause of £30 million. This potential condition introduces a noteworthy negotiation point between the two clubs concerning the terms of Cancelo’s future at Barcelona.
Despite his notable contributions, scoring twice and providing an assist in 10 La Liga appearances, Cancelo is yet to find the net in the Champions League during his four starts in the competition.
