Share:In the midst of an impending departure from Celta Vigo, talented young midfielder Gabri Veiga has become the focal point of a heated race between Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid, both vying for his services.
According to renowned journalist Manuel de Juan’s report in AS, Celta Vigo will not stand in the way of Veiga’s departure during the upcoming summer transfer window, provided that his €40 million release clause is met.
With his performances catching the attention of several European powerhouses, including Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Barcelona, it seems that Veiga has no shortage of suitors. De Juan further asserts that the doors to these clubs remain wide open at present.
Within the Spanish football landscape, Barcelona appears to hold the upper hand in the pursuit of Veiga when compared to their arch-rivals Real Madrid. The reasoning behind this lies in the promising midfielder’s understanding that a move to Barcelona would likely afford him greater opportunities to secure a starting role, particularly under the guidance of former Barcelona legend Xavi.
