According to reports, the 36-year-old Barry has expressed his desire to join Tuchel’s team to Chelsea, and discussions are nearing a conclusion. However, it’s been reported that Chelsea were unhappy with Tuchel’s premature declaration of an approach for Barry before a deal had been struck.
During his unveiling as Bayern coach, Tuchel revealed his intention to sign Barry, stating: “We’re hoping to add Anthony Barry, who is currently at Chelsea.” and sources indicate that this caused some delay in the deal’s finalisation.
Barry’s expertise in set-pieces has garnered significant recognition in European football. He joined Chelsea in 2020 under Frank Lampard’s stewardship but has since been retained by Tuchel and current Chelsea boss Graham Potter.
