Chelsea is considering Santiago Gimenez as a potential addition to bolster their attacking options.
Share:In a recent development, Chelsea FC has set its sights on Santiago Gimenez as a potential solution to enhance their offensive firepower. As reported by 90min, the 22-year-old Mexican international has become a subject of interest not only for Chelsea but also for their Premier League counterparts, West Ham United.
Gimenez garnered attention through his outstanding performance with Feyenoord last season, significantly contributing to their league title triumph with an impressive tally of 23 goals across various competitions. His stellar form has carried over into the current season, with Gimenez already notching five goals in the first four league matches.
Undoubtedly, Gimenez possesses the caliber required to don the blue jersey at Stamford Bridge, and the prospect of joining a prestigious club like Chelsea could be too tempting to resist. Interestingly, Chelsea is also exploring the possibility of acquiring Brentford striker Ivan Toney.
Considering the financial dynamics, Gimenez might represent a more cost-effective alternative compared to other Premier League strikers. With Chelsea’s ambition to reinforce their squad, particularly in the attacking department, securing Gimenez’s services in the upcoming January transfer window seems like a prudent move.
As Chelsea aims to regain its foothold in the UEFA Champions League, their somewhat lackluster start to the current season underscores the urgency of bolstering the squad. Manager Mauricio Pochettino will be keen on bringing in the right reinforcements to steer the club back on course for European glory.
