According to insights from Spain’s SPORT publication, the 19-year-old center-back has garnered attention from the Premier League club due to his standout performances within the Barcelona Academy.
Faye’s dual ability to excel as a central defender and left-back has caught the eye of Chelsea, who sees him as a potential solid, long-term investment. Should the deal materialize, Faye’s versatility could prove to be an added advantage for the Blues. The prospect of working under the guidance of manager Mauricio Pochettino is also mentioned as a factor that could aid Faye in realizing his considerable potential.
While Faye is currently under contract with Barcelona until the summer of 2027, indicating that the Spanish club is not under immediate pressure to sell, Chelsea might need to negotiate a premium to secure the talented young player. The evolving situation is poised to be intriguing, with questions lingering about how Chelsea will navigate these negotiations.
Given Faye’s aspirations for first-team action in the coming months, it remains to be seen whether Chelsea can entice him with promises of substantial playing time. Despite his evident prodigious talent, it is acknowledged that the 19-year-old may not be prepared for regular starting roles at top-tier clubs like Barcelona and Chelsea.
