Reports suggest that Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino expressed little interest in engaging in a bidding war for Manuel Ugarte, as he preferred to avoid overpaying for the player.
Share:According to reputable journalist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea’s pursuit of Manuel Ugarte has hit a roadblock, with Manager Mauricio Pochettino reportedly reluctant to get involved in a potential bidding war. The Uruguay international had been on the radar of the London club, but it now seems that Paris Saint-Germain is in pole position to secure his signature.
Speaking on his authoritative YouTube Channel channel, Romano shed light on Chelsea’s cautious approach, emphasizing their intention to avoid excessive expenditure on the talented midfielder. This decision appears prudent, given the club’s recent questionable transfer dealings over the past year.
Chelsea supporters are undoubtedly hoping for a more cohesive and disciplined approach under Pochettino, especially considering the mixed results obtained from their costly acquisitions such as Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly, Mykhaylo Mudryk, and Enzo Fernandez.
Undoubtedly, Ugarte could have been a valuable addition to Chelsea’s squad. However, it seems the club is prioritizing financial prudence and ensuring that any incoming player does not disrupt the team dynamics or place an unnecessary burden on their resources.
