Chelsea Football Club is reportedly close to appointing a new manager, according to multiple media outlets. The Guardian has claimed that the Blues are in advanced negotiations with Mauricio Pochettino and are nearing an agreement to make him their permanent boss.
The news comes after a lengthy process in which several high-profile names were linked with the vacant managerial position. Initially, Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique were seen as the frontrunners for the role, with the former being heavily favored by the media. However, both coaches reportedly withdrew their interest, leaving Pochettino as the leading candidate.

The potential appointment of the former Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain manager has been met with approval from the Chelsea squad. Reports suggest that the players are open to the idea of Pochettino taking charge and are excited about the prospect of working with him.
The announcement of a new manager would bring an end to a period of uncertainty at Stamford Bridge, following the dismissal of former head coach Graham Potter. The club has since been led by interim boss Frank Lampard , who has endured a torrid time back with the Blues.
