The 22-year-old forward is keen on securing regular first-team action elsewhere, prompting his representatives to explore potential avenues for a transfer. Recent discussions have reportedly taken place between Balogun’s camp and their counterparts at London rivals Chelsea, fueling further speculation about a potential move.
Football Transfers has revealed that the player’s agents have initiated contact with Chelsea, with a summer transfer on their radar.
Balogun impressed during his loan spell at Stade Reims last season, showcasing his goal-scoring prowess by netting an impressive 21 goals across all competitions. The young striker’s performances in Ligue 1 have undoubtedly caught the attention of several clubs, including Chelsea.
Considering Chelsea’s lack of attacking firepower last season, the addition of Balogun would undoubtedly bolster their squad. The versatile forward has demonstrated his abilities in one of Europe’s top leagues and possesses the potential to excel in the highly competitive environment of the Premier League.
While the arrival of Christopher Nkunku will undoubtedly strengthen Chelsea’s attacking options, it is clear that they require further reinforcements to address their goal-scoring woes from the previous campaign. As they set their sights on competing for silverware in the upcoming season, the Blues recognize the need to enhance the depth and quality of their attacking lineup.
Balogun, if signed at a reasonable price, could alleviate some of the goal-scoring burden alongside Nkunku and offer an invaluable option to Chelsea’s attacking arsenal.
