Sources suggest that Chelsea is keen on securing Gallagher’s services, given his pivotal role in the team, especially during Christopher Nkunku’s extended absence due to injury.
Earlier speculations linked Gallagher with a potential exit, with both Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United expressing late interest in acquiring the midfielder’s services. However, Gallagher’s sustained presence in Chelsea’s starting lineup has not only dispelled those transfer rumors but also earned him praise from manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Having proven himself as a crucial component in Pochettino’s tactical plans, Gallagher is now poised for a contract renewal, which is expected to bring about an improved deal for the 23-year-old. Chelsea, currently positioned 10th in the Premier League with 16 points from 13 games, recognizes the significance of securing Gallagher’s long-term commitment.
Negotiations for the new contract are anticipated to commence in the upcoming weeks, underlining Chelsea’s commitment to keeping the talented number 23 in their ranks. Gallagher, who has earned 11 caps for the England national team, has showcased his playmaking abilities with four assists in 16 appearances across various competitions since the season’s commencement.
