The Ecuadorian international has been a subject of interest for the Blues over the past few weeks, and it appears that they are now taking concrete steps towards securing his signature.
Caicedo, 21, has been a standout performer for the Seagulls throughout the past 18 months, impressing with his consistent displays on the pitch. His remarkable form has attracted attention from several clubs, with Chelsea emerging as his primary suitors.
Having made a total of 43 appearances across all competitions last season, Caicedo’s contributions to the team have been significant, taking his overall tally for the club to an impressive 53 appearances. It is evident that his performances have not gone unnoticed by the top-flight clubs.
Reportedly, Moises Caicedo stands as Chelsea’s top target this summer as they seek to reinforce their squad ahead of the upcoming season. However, it is worth noting that Brighton and Hove Albion have set a hefty price tag of £100 million on their star midfielder, demonstrating the club’s determination to retain his services.
Discussions between Chelsea and Caicedo’s representatives have already taken place, indicating the serious intent behind the Blues’ pursuit of the young midfielder. The report suggests that reaching an agreement on personal terms will not pose a significant hurdle in finalizing the deal.
Should Chelsea successfully secure the signing of Moises Caicedo, it would undoubtedly be seen as a significant coup for the London club. The Ecuadorian’s technical abilities, tactical versatility, and impressive work rate make him an ideal addition to Thomas Tuchel’s squad.
