Chelsea manager Graham Potter is reportedly eager to work with Ecuadorian midfielder Moises Caicedo, according to recent reports. The Blues attempted to sign the 21-year-old in January, but Brighton’s £75 million valuation was too steep, leading Chelsea to turn their attention to securing a club-record transfer for Enzo Fernandez.
However, as the summer transfer window approaches, GiveMeSport suggests that Potter’s desire to work with Caicedo may prompt Chelsea to make another bid.
Caicedo recently expressed his desire to leave Brighton via social media, attracting interest from some of the Premier League’s top clubs.
Despite the 21-year-old’s recent success, the amount required to sign him represents a significant risk for any club.
Additionally, Chelsea may face competition for Caicedo’s signature as England internationals Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice are rumored to be available for transfer at the end of the season, with rival English sides reportedly leading the race for their signatures.
It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will make a move for Caicedo, but if they do, the club will be hoping that the Ecuadorian can continue to develop and thrive at Stamford Bridge.
