Share:In a recent report from TEAMtalk, it has been revealed that Newcastle United is in the process of preparing a new contract for Jacob Murphy. According to the sources, manager Eddie Howe is eager to recognize the winger’s stellar performance with not only a pay raise but also a one-year contract extension.
Despite having a limited role under former managers, the 28-year-old Murphy has become a crucial member of Howe’s squad this season. With one goal and four assists in just nine games, his impact on the team has not gone unnoticed. Although Murphy’s current contract is valid until 2027, the club is considering offering him an extension that would secure his services until 2028.
The prospect of Murphy receiving a new deal doesn’t come as a surprise given his recent form. However, the commendable aspect lies in Howe’s ability to elevate a player who was previously under the radar. Regardless of the financial resources available to the Magpies, the decision to internally promote Murphy reflects Howe’s exceptional leadership and coaching qualities.
