With the summer transfer window in full swing, Manchester United’s manager, Erik ten Hag, has set his sights on reinforcing his squad with a talented midfielder, and his attention has turned to Mason Mount as the ideal candidate for the role. However, negotiations for the deal have encountered a delay due to a crucial stumbling block.
Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has shed light on the matter, revealing that the primary issue in Manchester United’s pursuit of Mount lies in the hefty price tag placed by Chelsea.

The Blues’ valuation of the English star has presented a significant challenge to the Red Devils. Nonetheless, Manchester United remains composed and optimistic, believing that a resolution can be reached, especially given Mount’s desire to make a move up north.
Reportedly, Chelsea is demanding a substantial sum of £70 million for the potential transfer of Mount. Such a price tag may seem high, considering that the midfielder only has a year remaining on his current contract.
Furthermore, Mount endured some difficulties during the past season, which one would assume could impact his market value. Nevertheless, the Blues are resolute in seeking a premium fee for one of their prized homegrown talents.
