Eddie Nketiah has taken the Premier League by storm, impressing Gary Neville with his standout performances this season.

The 23-year-old forward was facing an uncertain future with Arsenal last season, struggling to secure a starting role ahead of veteran forwards Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

However, Nketiah made a name for himself during the crucial run-in with his goals against high-profile teams such as Chelsea and Leeds United, nearly securing Arsenal’s Champions League qualification.

The young striker was rewarded with a new long-term contract and inherited Thierry Henry’s iconic No.14 shirt over the summer. Despite this, Nketiah faced stiff competition with the arrival of Gabriel Jesus, limiting his playing time to cup competitions in the first half of the season.

The injury to Jesus, however, presented Nketiah with a prime opportunity to prove his worth and he has taken it with both hands. With nine goals across all competitions, Nketiah is now Arsenal’s top scorer this season and has impressed not only with his clinical finishing but with his all-around play.

Neville was asked about the Premier League player that has surprised him the most this season, and he responded, “I’m going to go Nketiah. I thought when Jesus got injured, that could have been a problem for Arsenal, but I think Nketiah has played really well for them.”

The former Manchester United defender praised Nketiah for his ability to seize the moment and make an impact in the Premier League.
