Barcelona could possibly see midfielder Gavi leave the club on a free transfer if they lose their court hearing against Laliga.
Share:Barcelona Football Club is waiting with bated breath for a verdict in their legal battle over the registration of player, Gavi. La Liga, Spain’s top division of football, denied Barcelona the opportunity to register the player, citing a breach of the financial fair play rules.
The Catalan club went to court in response, and secured a temporary ruling that allowed Gavi’s registration before the transfer window closed. Nevertheless, La Liga has promised to contest the matter further.
The outcome of the case holds serious consequences for Barcelona. If they emerge victorious, La Liga may still win the battle, as Gavi’s contract is only valid if he is registered with the first-team. A final ruling that prevents Gavi’s registration could result in the player leaving the club for free next summer.
Gavi is regarded as a crucial player for Barcelona’s future, with many tipping him to dominate the midfield alongside teammate Pedri for the next decade. The loss of Gavi would be a major blow to President Joan Laporta and the club as a whole.
The verdict in this case will be eagerly anticipated by fans and commentators alike, as it holds significant ramifications for the future of Barcelona Football Club.
