Frank Lampard secured his inaugural victory of the season as the manager of Chelsea, although he acknowledged that there is still ample work ahead
Share:In a much-needed boost for Chelsea, manager Frank Lampard finally clinched his first victory of the season. However, the former Chelsea star admitted that there is still significant work to be done in the team’s pursuit of success.
Chelsea’s midfielder Conor Gallagher set the tone by netting a goal within a mere nine minutes. Yet, the home side’s resilience was evident as Matias Vina leveled the scoreline before the halftime whistle. It was only through the efforts of Benoit Badiashile and Joao Felix that Chelsea emerged as the victors in the end.
Speaking to the BBC after the match, Lampard expressed his satisfaction with the outcome, while emphasizing the continuous challenges that lie ahead
“I’m happy. We’ve endured a tough run, it’s been a challenging year, and there is still a lot of work to do. However, both the performance and the result are commendable in isolation, and we fully deserved the win. It’s a significant step forward for the lads, who showed great resilience and determination to succeed in a venue that has posed difficulties for many teams this season. I’m very pleased.”
Chelsea has grappled with a crisis of confidence throughout the season, and Lampard will be hoping that this victory acts as a catalyst for the team’s future endeavors.
