Liverpool is anticipated to pursue Levi Colwill despite potential complications from Chelsea.

The backdrop of Chelsea’s robust control over Colwill’s future complicates matters for Jurgen Klopp’s team in this ambitious pursuit. While whispers of a possible departure surfaced during the summer transfer window, Brighton’s fervent attempt to secure the defender’s signature was thwarted. In a surprising turn of events, Colwill opted to extend his contract with Chelsea in August, with the club breaking records to acquire Moises Caicedo in the process.
This renewed contract binds Colwill to Stamford Bridge until 2029, with an additional season option, fortifying Chelsea’s stronghold and making any potential suitors’ task of securing him a formidable challenge.
Speculation surrounding Liverpool’s interest in Colwill gained traction this month, following earlier considerations during the summer. Under Mauricio Pochettino’s management, Colwill has solidified his position as a pivotal player for Chelsea, earning high regard from Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp. The English international is seen as an ideal fit for the Merseyside club, particularly in the left-sided center-back role they aim to strengthen.
Fraser Gillan’s report hints at Liverpool’s intent to pursue Colwill in the upcoming summer transfer window, a logical move considering their need for a left-sided defensive option. However, Chelsea remains steadfast in their reluctance to part with the talented defender. Should negotiations ensue, especially with Liverpool, they are expected to be intricate and arduous.
