According to a recent report from the reputable Portuguese publication Record, relayed by Sport Witness , Liverpool dispatched scouts to closely observe Inacio in action during a match against Sturm Graz. The young defender made a lasting impression, not only showcasing his defensive capabilities but also contributing significantly on the score sheet with a notable brace.
Inacio’s rise as a prodigious talent has positioned him as a coveted prospect for Liverpool, especially considering the unfortunate season-ending injury to Joel Matip. As Matip faces the end of his contract in the summer, Liverpool finds itself in the crucial task of securing a worthy replacement, and Inacio seems to fit the bill.
The Portuguese international’s skill set extends beyond his primary role as a central defender; his versatility allows him to operate effectively as a left-back. This flexibility addresses Liverpool’s need for cover in that position, providing an alternative to Andrew Robertson and complementing backup Kostas Tsimikas, whose defensive vulnerabilities have been noted.
Inacio’s potential arrival at Anfield not only bolsters Liverpool’s defensive capabilities but also signifies a strategic move to plan for the future, recognizing the imperative need for a reliable and multifaceted backline. As the 22-year-old continues to shine on the football stage, Liverpool fans can anticipate the prospect of witnessing a burgeoning defensive star in their ranks.
