According to reputable German outlet BILD, a delegation from Liverpool FC recently met with Gravenberch’s management to discuss the possibility of a transfer, with further negotiations expected to take place in the Netherlands.
Gravenberch, a highly-rated young talent, has been making waves in European football since his breakthrough at Ajax in 2018. The 19-year-old’s impressive performances caught the attention of Bayern Munich, who signed him in 2020. However, with Liverpool seeking to bolster their midfield, Gravenberch appears to be an attractive target for the Merseyside club.
BILD’s report also suggests that Liverpool will undergo a squad overhaul at the end of the current season, with at least three first-team players, including Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, expected to leave the club. Gravenberch, who has been dubbed the “new Pogba” by some experts, could provide Liverpool with the creative and dynamic midfielder they need to compete at the highest level.
With Liverpool’s squad in need of a revamp, Gravenberch’s potential arrival could signal the start of a new era for the club, as they look to regain their status as one of Europe’s elite footballing teams.
