The highly-rated defender’s exceptional performances during his breakthrough year have earned him a well-deserved extension, keeping him at the club until 2030.
Lewis, who made his Premier League debut in August of last year, showcased his immense potential as a substitute in a memorable victory over Bournemouth. Since then, his meteoric rise has been nothing short of astonishing. Notably, in November, he etched his name into the history books by becoming the youngest goalscorer in a thrilling Champions League encounter against Sevilla.
Throughout Manchester City’s triumphant treble-winning campaign, Lewis demonstrated maturity beyond his years, making 23 appearances under the watchful eye of Pep Guardiola. With every outing, he exhibited composure, skill, and determination, proving that he belongs among the elite ranks of professional football.
Such a substantial contract extension is a clear indication of the faith the club has in Lewis’s potential and the pivotal role he is expected to play in the team’s future success. It also serves as a testament to the player’s unwavering commitment to the Sky Blues.
In light of his previous contract’s expiration in 2024, securing Lewis’s services for an additional six years is a remarkable coup for Manchester City. Reports from reliable sources, including the Daily Mail, confirm that the club is eager to nurture the young defender’s talent and provide him with the ideal platform to thrive.
