With their fifth Premier League title in six years secured after Arsenal’s 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest, Pep Guardiola’s side finds itself on the cusp of an extraordinary treble. Still in contention for both the FA Cup and Champions League trophies, Manchester City is leaving no stone unturned in their quest for success.
While Liverpool seemed to have a firm grip on the pursuit of Mac Allister, recent reports from The Mirror suggest that Guardiola is keen to bring the 24-year-old Argentine to the Etihad. This development could give City the upper hand in securing the talented midfielder, particularly considering Mac Allister’s reported desire to compete in the Champions League.
In contrast, Liverpool faces the challenge of persuading the Argentine international to join their ranks, despite the likelihood of missing out on a top-four finish this season. The Merseyside club will need to showcase the appeal of their project and convince Mac Allister that joining them would be a compelling proposition.
