Share:Manchester United is actively negotiating with Diogo Dalot regarding a contract extension, aiming to secure the right-back’s services for the foreseeable future. This update comes from highly respected transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, who shared the news on his official Twitter account.
Dalot, an integral part of the Portuguese national team, is currently under contract with the Red Devils until the summer of 2024, as reported by transfermarkt. However, Manchester United is keen on ensuring the defender’s long-term commitment to the club and is optimistic about reaching a positive agreement.
Having joined the Old Trafford outfit from FC Porto in the summer of 2018, Dalot initially faced limited opportunities to showcase his abilities. However, the 23-year-old’s fortunes changed during the 2020/21 season when he was loaned out to AC Milan. At the Italian club, Dalot experienced regular game time and impressed with his performances.

Upon his return to Manchester, though, the promising full-back found himself relegated to a substitute role once again. Nonetheless, the club has recognized Dalot’s potential and sees him as an integral part of their future plans.
Manchester United is now determined to tie down Dalot to a new long-term contract, demonstrating their confidence in his abilities. The ongoing discussions indicate the club’s commitment to nurturing and retaining young talent, with Dalot’s extension being a top priority for the Red Devils.
As negotiations progress, it remains to be seen how soon an agreement will be reached.
