Share:Manchester United fans have been given a glimmer of hope regarding the potential return of star forward Marcus Rashford for the Europa League quarter-final second leg against Sevilla. Reports emerging from Old Trafford suggest that the England international, who has been sidelined with a groin injury, could be fit to play in the crucial fixture.
The news was first reported by Guardian journalist Jamie Jackson, who stated that Ajax coach Ten Hag had informed him of the possibility of Rashford’s return. This information has now been corroborated by The Athletic Laurie Whitwell, who quotes Ten Hag as saying, “There is a chance but I can’t confirm it in this moment.”
Rashford’s early return would be a welcome boost for Manchester United, who have been plagued by injuries this season. The striker’s injury was initially thought to require a recovery period of three to six weeks, but if he makes it back for Thursday’s game, it will have been less than two weeks since he sustained the pull.
