Manchester United is showing interest in acquiring Brentford’s striker Ivan Toney once the January transfer window opens.
Share:Manchester United has emerged as a prominent contender vying for the signature of Brentford’s prolific striker, Ivan Toney. With the upcoming January transfer window looming on the horizon, sources suggest that the Red Devils are meticulously strategizing to secure the services of the 27-year-old frontman.
While the current summer transfer window remains in full swing, Ivan Toney’s prospects remain somewhat curtailed by a suspension that is set to persist until the commencement of the new year.
The suspension, attributed to a breach of gambling regulations, has not dampened Manchester United’s eagerness to secure the striker’s talents. Reports from Football Transfers indicate that the club is poised to capitalize on the lifting of Toney’s suspension, embarking on negotiations with a keen interest in his acquisition.
Evidently, Toney’s proficiency in front of goal is a characteristic that Manchester United is eager to infuse into their ranks. The 27-year-old’s remarkable tally of 21 goals across all competitions during the previous season attests to his effectiveness as a goal-scoring asset in the Premier League.
While Manchester United has recently welcomed Rasmus Hojlund to bolster their attacking arsenal, the club’s manager, Erik ten Hag, purportedly maintains a steadfast ambition to secure a top-tier number nine, substantiating the club’s aspirations for consistent success.
