Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly preparing to battle it out for the 24-year-old’s signature, as they look to strengthen their attacking options for next season.
Osimhen has been in brilliant form for Napoli this campaign, scoring 45 goals in 83 appearances. This has seen him establish himself as one of the most promising forwards in world football, leading to interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe.
Manchester United, who have struggled in front of goal this season, have identified Osimhen as the man to lead their attack.
They are understood to be preparing a massive £107 million offer to tempt Napoli into selling. Meanwhile, Chelsea, who have also struggled to find a consistent scorer, are expected to enter the race in the summer, with owner Todd Boehly said to be willing to spend big to bring in new attacking talent.
However, Napoli President Aurelio de Laurentiis has poured cold water on the transfer speculation, stating that Osimhen is not for sale.
‘I can tell you that Osimhen is not for sale,’ De Laurentiis said.
‘Our players are in demand, but I don’t have to sell anyone.
‘We don’t have any debts’.
The Napoli talisman has two years left on his contract, and reports suggest that talks over a new deal have yet to take place.
In conclusion, Osimhen is set to be one of the hottest properties in the transfer market this summer, with Manchester United and Chelsea both eager to sign him. However, Napoli’s stance remains firm, and it remains to be seen whether either club will be able to convince them to part with their star man.
