Newcastle’s pursuit of Tonali comes as no surprise, as the club is actively seeking to bolster their midfield options with quality and depth. At present, Bruno Guimaraes stands as the solitary reliable presence in the Magpies’ midfield ranks, making the addition of a top-class partner for him an imperative requirement.

The potential acquisition of a player of Tonali’s caliber holds significant implications for Newcastle’s tactical setup. By bringing in a quality defensive midfielder of his stature, the club would afford Guimaraes greater freedom and creative license to express himself in the heart of the pitch.

Additionally, Tonali’s presence would provide crucial shielding for the backline, courtesy of his exceptional tackling abilities. The Italian midfielder’s physicality would undoubtedly inject a new level of solidity and grit into the Newcastle midfield.
