Gallagher, a highly-regarded prospect within the Chelsea ranks, is widely expected to be part of the Blues’ squad overhaul this summer. While the 23-year-old endured limited playing time under previous managers, he has featured more under Frank Lampard, cementing his place as a regular starter. However, it appears that Chelsea are open to offers for the promising English international.
Having returned from an impressive loan spell at Crystal Palace last summer, Gallagher’s aspirations of securing a consistent place in the Chelsea starting lineup have been hindered. Despite his undeniable potential, opportunities have been scarce for the young midfielder, prompting interest from Newcastle United.
The Magpies, who currently occupy a commendable third place in the league standings, are set to vie for a coveted spot in the Champions League. Their remarkable performances this season have not gone unnoticed, and Newcastle United could provide Gallagher with an enticing opportunity to resurrect his career.
Moreover, Gallagher’s potential departure from Chelsea could facilitate the London club’s pursuit of other transfer targets. With the need to balance their payroll for the forthcoming season, Chelsea may be compelled to offload players, and Gallagher’s exit could be a step towards achieving that goal.
Should the move materialize, Gallagher would form a formidable midfield trio alongside the likes of Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton, furnishing Newcastle United with a robust and dynamic engine room.
