Eddie Howe’s team currently occupies a commendable sixth place in the Premier League standings, but they are still trailing leaders Tottenham by nine points.
Share:In a season filled with surprises, Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United find themselves in a respectable sixth place in the Premier League table. However, there is still a significant gap between the Magpies and the league leaders, Tottenham, with a nine-point difference separating them.
One name that has recently emerged in transfer rumors, courtesy of reports from reputable outlets like Fichajes, is Inter Milan’s talented wing-back, Federico Dimarco. The 25-year-old has garnered attention for his impressive performances and could offer Newcastle the balance they need, particularly on the left flank.
On the opposite side of the pitch, Kieran Trippier has been a standout for Newcastle, showcasing tremendous dedication and determination that has played a pivotal role in the team’s recent success. However, there has been a noticeable void on the left side of the pitch, a concern that Eddie Howe and his backroom team are undoubtedly aware of.
Regrettably for Newcastle, it seems they might have to look elsewhere to address this issue.
In an exclusive Daily briefing on CaughtOffside, columnist Fabrizio Romano reported, “Despite significant links with top clubs, negotiations between Inter and Federico Dimarco regarding a new contract are progressing. Talks are advancing towards the final stages, and it appears likely that this deal could be completed by the end of the year.”
Newcastle’s pursuit of Dimarco illustrates their ambition to strengthen the squad and compete at the highest level, but they may have to explore other options in their quest to bolster their left flank.
