Paris Saint-Germain has expressed a strong interest in the possible acquisition of Bernardo Silva, the attacking midfielder from Manchester City.
Share:Paris Saint-Germain has reportedly set its sights on Manchester City’s talented attacking midfielder, Bernardo Silva, igniting speculation of a potential transfer deal. The Portugal international is believed to possess the qualities that perfectly align with PSG’s ambitions for the upcoming summer transfer window.
However, insiders suggest that the French club may need to offload players before pursuing this significant signing, as confirmed by esteemed French football expert, Jonathan Johnson, in his exclusive CaughtOffside column.
Undoubtedly, Manchester City would be reluctant to part ways with a key player of Silva’s caliber. Nevertheless, Johnson intriguingly notes that the Portuguese maestro, along with other players at the Etihad Stadium, may be considering fresh challenges after their triumphant treble-winning campaign in the 2022/23 season.
What further adds fuel to the transfer speculations is Silva’s previous connection with Luis Campos, currently associated with PSG. The attacking midfielder had been signed by Campos during their shared time at Monaco in Ligue 1, thus strengthening the ties between the player and the Parisian club.
While the pursuit of Silva may entice PSG fans, the financial aspect presents a challenging hurdle. Johnson highlights the potential sale of Marco Verratti, an influential figure in the PSG midfield, as a potential means to generate funds for this important signing.
