As per a recent report from CalcioMercato.it, the 27-year-old Dutch international has become a sought-after figure in the Premier League, with a potential price tag of approximately €40 million.
It’s not just Manchester United eyeing Dumfries, though. The report suggests that Chelsea has been keeping a close watch on the defender for a while, setting the stage for a potential bidding war. Liverpool, too, has expressed its interest in Dumfries, especially with Trent Alexander-Arnold’s contract set to expire in 2025.
Dumfries’ track record as a reliable performer both at the club and international levels has piqued the curiosity of Premier League clubs in the past, and this transfer window is no exception. The English football stage offers an alluring challenge for the Dutchman, and all eyes are on which of these top-tier clubs will make a decisive move in the months to come.
For Chelsea, the prospect of acquiring Dumfries could bolster their right-back department and inject quality into their squad. Meanwhile, Manchester United might find themselves in need of a right-back, particularly if they decide to part ways with Aaron Wan-Bissaka at the end of the season.
Liverpool, on the other hand, has been dealing with a shortage of depth in the right-back position, and Dumfries’ potential arrival could provide healthy competition for Alexander-Arnold should he choose to make the move to Anfield.
All three clubs represent exciting possibilities for the talented Dutch defender, and the footballing world will be watching closely to see where Dumfries ultimately decides to continue his career.
