According to Italian outlet Gazetta dello Sport , the 23-year-old has been offered to Los Blancos by his agent Jorge Mendes, but the Spanish giants have opted against a move for the talented Portuguese.
Leao has been in sensational form for Milan this season, scoring seven goals and providing four assists in 22 Serie A appearances. His performances have caught the eye of several top European clubs, including Tottenham, who have been linked with a potential move for the winger.
However, Madrid’s decision to reject the chance to sign Leao is said to have been influenced by the impressive form of Brazilian star Vinicius Junior. The 21-year-old has established himself as one of the best left-sided attackers in world football, and Madrid reportedly view him as a crucial part of their future plans.
Despite Madrid’s decision, Leao’s future remains uncertain, with several top European clubs still said to be interested in acquiring his services. Milan are reportedly demanding at least €90m (£79m) for the winger, making him one of the most expensive players in world football.
Leao’s potential and impressive performances this season have certainly made him a player to watch in the coming months, with the possibility of a big-money move to one of Europe’s top clubs still on the table.
