Real Madrid are reportedly looking to replace Carlo Ancelotti and are considering Argentine coach Marcelo Gallardo.
Share:Real Madrid is reportedly considering Argentine coach Marcelo Gallardo as a potential candidate to replace Carlo Ancelotti, as the club continues to endure a challenging season.
Los Blancos are currently eight points behind Barcelona in the La Liga standings, prompting speculation of a managerial change at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Although Real Madrid was initially interested in hiring Thomas Tuchel, the former Borussia Dortmund and PSG manager was quickly snapped up by Bayern Munich after Julian Nagelsmann was sacked. As a result, Real Madrid has turned its attention to other potential candidates, including Marcelo Gallardo.
Gallardo is a former playmaker for Paris Saint-Germain, who has gained considerable managerial experience by spending more than eight years at the helm of River Plate, where he oversaw 424 competitive matches. He left the Argentine club in late 2022 and is currently available for employment.
One of the reasons why Gallardo is highly regarded is his tactical prowess, which has helped him guide his teams to numerous titles. He is also known for his ability to nurture young players, a trait that could prove useful to Real Madrid, who have a rich history of developing young talent.
While Gallardo is a potential candidate for the managerial position at Real Madrid, the club has also expressed interest in Julian Nagelsmann.
It remains to be seen which direction Los Blancos will go in, but their next move could have a significant impact on the club’s future.
