Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo is back training with the group after recovering from an adductor injury but could still be a doubt for the upcoming match against Elche
Share:In a boost to Xavi’s preparations for the upcoming La Liga clash against Elche, Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo has resumed training with the first-team squad. This development comes as a welcome relief for the Blaugrana, who have been plagued by injuries to several key players this season.
While the Uruguayan center-back is back in training, it remains to be seen whether he will be match-fit in time for the clash against Elche. Araujo had suffered an adductor injury just before the international break, which forced him to withdraw from Uruguay’s friendlies against Japan and South Korea.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his availability for the weekend’s game, the Catalan giants will be relieved to know that Araujo is expected to be fully fit and ready for the highly-anticipated El Clasico against arch-rivals Real Madrid next week.
The 24-year-old has emerged as a crucial player for Barcelona this season, having impressed with his physicality and defensive prowess in his limited appearances. His return will undoubtedly bolster Xavi’s defensive options.
