Thiago Silva, the esteemed Chelsea defender, appears to be on the cusp of bidding farewell to the London club as the current season draws to a close. The 39-year-old Brazilian icon, who has been a pivotal figure at Stamford Bridge, recently shared his thoughts on the impending exit.
Silva’s contract with Chelsea is set to expire at the conclusion of the current campaign, and there’s been speculation about where the veteran defender might choose to wrap up his illustrious career.
One potential scenario is a return to his roots in Brazil, donning the jersey of Fluminense, the very club where he initially embarked on his youthful football journey.
In a conversation with TNT Sports regarding his future, Thiago Silva spoke vaguely about the prospect of reuniting with his former club in Brazil. His words, as conveyed by Fabrizio Romano, were filled with a sense of sentiment: “This is a long-standing relationship, right? But I’d rather keep quiet now”.
“I have a family, I have children. So we have to think about that too. It’s about seeing where to finish off this beautiful career”
