Tottenham is reportedly considering a January move for Conor Gallagher, the Chelsea midfielder who was previously linked with a summer transfer away from Stamford Bridge.
Share:Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly considering making a move for Conor Gallagher during the January transfer window. The Chelsea midfielder’s name had come up in discussions during the summer transfer period, but he ultimately decided to remain at Stamford Bridge.
It’s worth noting that other clubs, including West Ham, have shown interest in acquiring Gallagher’s services, raising questions about whether Chelsea might be willing to part ways with him midway through the season.
A report from Football Insider indicates that the 23-year-old midfielder is content at Chelsea and wishes to continue playing for the West London club. This suggests that Tottenham will need to make a compelling case to convince Gallagher to join them before any potential deal with Chelsea can be struck.
Tottenham’s interest in Gallagher stems from their need for midfield reinforcements, particularly if players like Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg opt to leave the club. Hojbjerg has fallen out of favor under manager Ange Postecoglou due to a stylistic mismatch.
Conor Gallagher could be an excellent addition to Tottenham’s squad, given his ability to press opponents, provide defensive cover, and maintain a high work rate on the field. Moreover, there’s a possibility that Gallagher could become a regular starter for Tottenham, adding depth and versatility to their midfield lineup.
