Vinicius endured a torrid 90minutes against Manchester City as Real Madrid lost by 4 goals to Nill.
Share:Real Madrid’s rising star, Vinicius Junior, had a challenging outing against Manchester City, failing to make his mark on the game. Following the match, the talented forward shared his disappointment with the media, expressing his thoughts on the outcome.
The young Brazilian found himself contained by the defensive prowess of Kyle Walker, unable to complete a successful dribble throughout the entirety of the game. With just one off-target shot to his name, Vinicius’ struggles were emblematic of Real Madrid’s overall difficulty in creating scoring opportunities during their visit to the Etihad Stadium.
However, Vinicius was quick to stress that the team’s shortcomings were not a result of a lack of determination or effort.
“While the outcome is disheartening, we never lacked attitude. We faced an exceptional team in their own fortress, which presented us with significant challenges,”
Vinicius conveyed to Marca.
Looking ahead, Vinicius emphasized the importance of learning from this experience and ensuring such a one-sided match does not repeat itself in future campaigns.
“Today was an arduous day for us, but we must draw lessons from this game. We cannot afford a similar outcome in the upcoming season. Reaching the semifinals is an incredibly difficult feat,” Vinicius asserted.
In terms of the managerial situation, Vinicius voiced his support for Carlo Ancelotti, joining his teammates in backing the experienced coach to continue leading the team in the following season.
“Of course, Carlo Ancelotti should remain at the helm. We are all deeply saddened by the result. It was a match we desperately wanted to win, but unfortunately, it eluded us,” Vinicius concluded.
