Manchester United will be looking to offload quite a number of players ahead of the next season, as the Erik Ten Haag led team are hoping to bring in new fresh legs to the Old Trafford.
Share:In an intriguing transfer development, it has come to light that West Ham United has been presented with a golden opportunity to secure the services of Manchester United’s prized defender, Harry Maguire. Reports from ESPN suggest that the Hammers, keen on bolstering their defensive lineup ahead of the forthcoming season, have expressed their interest in the England international.
Interestingly, West Ham’s initial inquiry about Maguire dates back to January, but their pursuit was thwarted as then-Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag was determined to retain the formidable center-back. However, circumstances seem to have changed, with Maguire’s potential departure from Old Trafford now being discussed.
Maguire’s potential move to West Ham United holds great promise, particularly if the center-back can recapture the form that earned him a high-profile transfer to Manchester United and has consistently shone in an England shirt. His commanding presence and defensive prowess would undoubtedly strengthen the Hammers’ backline, adding a valuable dimension to their game.
While this development opens up exciting possibilities for West Ham, one significant stumbling block looms large – Maguire’s hefty salary.
As per the report, the defender currently earns a staggering £200,000-a-week, a figure that has deterred the interest of fellow contenders Tottenham Hotspur. However, it presents an intriguing scenario for West Ham United, who could capitalize on their London rivals’ hesitation due to financial constraints.
