Costa Rica are back in the race for Group E qualification after handing Japan a 1-0 stunner on Sunday.

The Japanese were stunned as Costa Rica claimed all three points with the only goal of the game.

Having gone almost full time without a goal, Japan managed to contain Costa Rica to recording no shot on target. However, an 81st minute shot attempt by Fuller beat Japan Goalie to put the side in front.

Japan still on the second place are now 1 point behind Spain as the loss against Costa Rica sees the Americans at same point with them.

Germany now stands as the one risking Group Stage departure after they failed to find a winner for the second time following 1-1 draw against Spain.

Japan will take on Spain on their next encounter while Costa Rica will have their fates in their hands when they battle Germany.
