Chelsea Contemplates Surprise Move for Newcastle’s Star in Striker Search
As per insights from Jacque Talbot at FootballTransfers, the Blues are deliberating the prospect of meeting Newcastle’s £18 million valuation for the talented forward. It appears that Mauricio Pochettino is keen on acquiring a proven Premier League goalscorer, with Wilson standing out having notched an impressive 25 league goals over the past 18 months.
While Atletico Madrid recently made an approach for Wilson, their interest was limited to a loan deal, swiftly dismissed by Newcastle. However, subsequent reports suggest that the Magpies have now assigned a £20 million price tag to the 31-year-old, signaling their openness to a potential sale.
Interestingly, the article also speculates that Chelsea might adopt a patient approach, potentially waiting until the summer transfer window to make their move. This strategic delay aligns with Chelsea’s pursuit of a player boasting a robust track record in Premier League goal-scoring to enhance their squad.
